34308fd4a2 acornfb: remove fb_mmap function
The driver's fb_mmap function is essentially the same as a generic fb_mmap
function. Delete driver's function and use the generic one.

A difference is that generic function marks frame buffer memory as VM_IO |
VM_RESERVED. The driver's function marks it as VM_IO only.

be50972935 [ARM] Remove asm/hardware.h, use asm/arch/hardware.h instead
Remove includes of asm/hardware.h in addition to asm/arch/hardware.h.
Then, since asm/hardware.h only exists to include asm/arch/hardware.h,
update everything to directly include asm/arch/hardware.h and remove
asm/hardware.h.

27ac792ca0 PAGE_ALIGN(): correctly handle 64-bit values on 32-bit architectures
On 32-bit architectures PAGE_ALIGN() truncates 64-bit values to the 32-bit
boundary. For example:

	u64 val = PAGE_ALIGN(size);

always returns a value < 4GB even if size is greater than 4GB.

The problem resides in PAGE_MASK definition (from include/asm-x86/page.h for
example):

#define PAGE_SHIFT      12
#define PAGE_SIZE       (_AC(1,UL) << PAGE_SHIFT)
#define PAGE_MASK       (~(PAGE_SIZE-1))
...
#define PAGE_ALIGN(addr)       (((addr)+PAGE_SIZE-1)&PAGE_MASK)

The "~" is performed on a 32-bit value, so everything in "and" with
PAGE_MASK greater than 4GB will be truncated to the 32-bit boundary.
Using the ALIGN() macro seems to be the right way, because it uses
typeof(addr) for the mask.

Also move the PAGE_ALIGN() definitions out of include/asm-*/page.h in
include/linux/mm.h.

99eb8a550d Remove the arm26 port
The arm26 port has been in a state where it was far from even compiling
for quite some time.

Ian Molton agreed with the removal.

d1ae418eef [PATCH] drivers/video: Use ARRAY_SIZE macro

7835e98b2e [PATCH] remove set_page_count() outside mm/
set_page_count usage outside mm/ is limited to setting the refcount to 1.
Remove set_page_count from outside mm/, and replace those users with
init_page_count() and set_page_refcounted().

This allows more debug checking, and tighter control on how code is allowed
to play around with page->_count.

c465e05a03 [PATCH] fbcon/fbdev: Move softcursor out of fbdev to fbcon
According to Jon Smirl, filling in the field fb_cursor with soft_cursor for
drivers that do not support hardware cursors is redundant. The soft_cursor
function is usable by all drivers because it is just a wrapper around
fb_imageblit. And because soft_cursor is an fbcon-specific hook, the file is
moved to the console directory.

Thus, drivers that do not support hardware cursors can leave the fb_cursor
field blank. For drivers that do, they can fill up this field with their own
version.

The end result is a smaller code size. And if the framebuffer console is not
loaded, module/kernel size is also reduced because the soft_cursor module will
also not be loaded.

1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
