92ff2ecd0d [IA64] sem2mutex: arch/ia64/ia32/sys_ia32.c

3a0f69d59b [PATCH] common compat_sys_timer_create
The comment in compat.c is wrong, every architecture provides a
get_compat_sigevent() for the IPC compat code already.

This basically moves the x86_64 version to common code and removes all the
others.

6b9c7ed848 [PATCH] use ptrace_get_task_struct in various places
The ptrace_get_task_struct() helper that I added as part of the ptrace
consolidation is useful in variety of places that currently opencode it.
Switch them to the common helpers.

Add a ptrace_traceme() helper that needs to be explicitly called, and simplify
the ptrace_get_task_struct() interface. We don't need the request argument
now, and we return the task_struct directly, using ERR_PTR() for error
returns. It's a bit more code in the callers, but we have two sane routines
that do one thing well now.

dfb7dac3af [PATCH] unify sys_ptrace prototype
Make sure we always return, as all syscalls should. Also move the common
prototype to <linux/syscalls.h>

83b942bd34 [PATCH] x86-64: Fix 32bit sendfile
If we use 64bit kernel on ia64/x86_64/s390 architecture, and we run
32bit binary on 32bit compatibility mode, sendfile system call seems be
not set offset argument.

This is because sendfile's return value is not zero but the code regards
the result by return value is zero or not.

This problem will be affect to ia64/x86_64/s390 and not affect to other
architecture does not affect other architecture (mips/parisc/ppc64/sparc64).

e922efc342 [PATCH] remove duplicated sys_open32() code from 64bit archs
64 bit architectures all implement their own compatibility sys_open(),
when in fact the difference is simply not forcing the O_LARGEFILE
flag. So use the a common function instead.

d8caebd285 [IA64] fix compilation warning in sys32_epoll_wait()
This gets rid of an unused variable `error' in sys_ia32.c:sys32_epoll_wait()

Getting rid of this one makes parsing the output of the kernecomp
autobuild easier --- searching for `Error' to find a problem kept
hitting this one, even though it's only a warning.

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
